This case study details the UX design process undertaken for Trala, a tech-powered online music school. As the lead product designer and consultant, I collaborated with Trala's team to improve the student experience by creating a new student portal.
My role:
Lead Designer/ Design Consultant
TEAM
Students were unable to review subscription information through a portal, leading to user frustrations and a demand for clearer communication and expectations regarding:
2-Documenting & Strategizing: user stories were developed for a variety of situations: students with recurring plans, scheduled lessons, unscheduled lessons, etc.
3-Information Architecture & Design: Designed a student portal with clear information hierarchy and intuitive user flows. This included:
4-Flow and Concepts Explorations
5-UX/UI Validation: Trala's product team lacked a validation workflow. I collaborated closely with the product owner to create a usability testing process and identify parameters. We recruited current students for testing, offering incentive rewards.
The development of the Trala student portal significantly improved the student experience. The portal facilitated easier scheduling, lesson management, and subscription handling, streamlining interactions between students and teachers. It also contributed to better retention rates.
Student only had access to a tuner app with minimal self-guided tour video lessons. Without access to a portal guiding users to their next lesson with their teacher.
Trala, a tech-powered online music school, needed a captivating pitch deck to showcase their progress, trajectory, and future goals to potential investors. The CEO sought a presentation that conveyed complex information in a clear, concise, and visually appealing manner.
Working directly with the Trala CEO, I designed a compelling 15-slide pitch deck that balanced clear communication with visual engagement.
